Last few moments..yet again

sky's starting to turn bright
the sun has finally risen.. What a sea of cottony clouds!
Australia's barren land..wonder which state is it in
the "heavenly" and "dark" looking contrast of the pics..haha dunno why it comes out so differently with & w/o flash to achieve such effects

Thx so much for coming to the airport still this time round! :) It felt so surreal as I stepped through the gate once again and pushed my trolley towards the departure gate. Hols have been great and I don't want it to end. Maybe if I don't have to start 2 wks earlier, cny will still be possible and I may not feel that unwilling to leave...

Touching down at 07 25. Waited a long time for my lugguage to appear and declaration of my items. Checking out only at 08 30. Taking taxi with shuk to our places. No choice but to give our 1st lesson, 9-11am PBL class a miss. Arghz it's a tutorial and they've started on a case already. No such thing as introductory class anymore. At least I'm not the only one having to miss it :p

Checking into my new accommodation and having more stuff to settle. Yes I've a living room, a kitchen, a bathroom now! But no longer that social or communal lifestyle anymore and I'm alone in the whole apt now. I don't see everyone during meal times anymore :( roomies hurry up pack ur stuff and fly here!

Went back to hc with zx before flying off. We only manage to bai nian with Ms Wang and Mrs Tan. Ms Wang's getting married soon! haha dunno where we heard from that she's married already instead :p In fact, we realised that our teachers are left with the 2 of them and Mr Tan. Our CT, chem, gp teachers were not in hc anymore.

What a coincidence, I met maddy there too! The canteen stalls seem to sell much nicer and more happening food now! If ms wang never mentioned it to us, we might not have noticed that they're such food stall names: "xiao mi mi economic rice", "R & B noodle hut" and "candy yong tau fu"!! The student lounge is now fully air-conditioned, with a cafe that sells deliferance stuff at a much cheaper price and a plasma tv also! Hmm though it can only play channel newsasia :p They call it the "fishtank" since it has see through windows throughout its entire length. We only wanted to nquire about the new faculty shirts then ended up chatting with the counsellor who served us. She's really nice :) Shared with us many of the changes and orientation stuff that's happening. The jc curriculum has completely changed and felt that it's much better than our previous one, with no "S" papers but of h1, h2, h3 instead. Can't believe that out of 1000 students, she said that there's like 500 tchs guys! Wouldn't gals end up being the very minority? But she was assuring that there's in fact still quite an even gal guy ratio. With the IP programs, be it fully or partially integrated, seriously wondering how hc and even the rest of the jcs will be turn out to be like in the coming years. Who knows? Shall check it out then :p

huang cheng and cny celebrations banner. Realised that I've not watched a single huang cheng play yet! I remember that it always clashes with yltc, its banner below.

After which, zx gave me a ride to the national museum where I met jeanette to visit the newly renovated museum! I've got complimentary passes from my past colleagues and went back to visit them too :) It has a new glass building and glass dome which looks really cool and trendy. Didn't have much time to completely understand for myself the whole history via the interactive device. Yup but I've learnt it before anyway, maybe not all of it and might not remember them as much too :p

chloe, me and alvina

the glass ceiling along the walkway..doesn't it feel like the stairway to heaven? Btw that's also the name of the tear-jerking korean drama :p

A big chilli! Still dunno why there's a big chilli and what it signifies

Met zm after that to buy food for the bbq by the seletar dam! It was sea on one side while the reservoir on the other side of the road. What a unique bbq! haha yup and so oac-like! Our own bbq tray, stools, bunsen burners, mess tins, and all kinds of food plus jalan kayu prata and curry. What a challenge to set fire up in the strong howling wind too! With the company of the guitar, laptop, mp3 player and speakers till 3am. Thx guys for the great company and such a unique bbq! :D Missing u all! And sophia's gambling den too! haha hope ur had fun in each others' hse on cny :)

Johor's night view from across the johor straits. Haven't noticed its night view before and didn't know that such road by the sea exists! A nice and windy place to see across the causeway :)

setting up fire against all odds!

the roadside with many cars parked and some people hanging around on the seemingly never ending road

hahaz lily trying to act cool?

It's my last day of work! Had to work an extra day to do data entry for all the surveys we've done. For almost the whole day, I've been typing in numbers in excel in the freezing office. What a different routine from my temp surveyor work in the wards. I was quite lucky to have being offered it, a job working only 2 days per wk and 1 mth, allowing me time during the wkdays to go out still. Seeing all the health professionals buzzing here and there and encountering many different kind of patients, from young to old, eccentric to humourous, distressed to cheerful ones with different stories to tell. Somehow feel that the survey was rather long and repetitive, at times ambiguous which made it difficult sometimes for me to get answers from them. It was a nice short temp job, in an environment which I'm gonna be in most of the time in the near future and knowing aisah and connie! :)

After which I went to use the manicure voucher which the gals have given me. haha yup I've finally gone to do it before flying off if not it'll expire! Btw, only did a pedicure as I didn't get to enjoy the student offer. Don't wanna pay extra :P It's my 1st time doing such stuff! Made me feel so pampered as the manicurist clean, cut, polish and etc. Just feel so weird looking at my toe nails after that. Hmm but seriously, I wouldn't pay the $50 to do that, at least not in the near future! Somehow, it seemed like many others in the shop don't think so. Their business was busking! Maybe to them, it's a fashion, a way to reward oneself, a way to relish the joys of being a lady? :p

Went down for ktv in cine after that and guess it'll be the last time I'll seeing some of my claz peeps for the whole yr while for some it might be for a few yrs after they've fly off too. We made use of the ladies night offer! haha. Which is why it's on a wkday. Some left at around midnight while I only manage to stay till ~3am. Wonder if the 2 of them left in the end did indeed sing all the way till 6am in order to make full use of the hours :P

Revamp!

For a rather long period of time, I kept having problems logging into blogger. Even so now with my home computer, when I wanted to upgrade to the other version so that I can sign in with my google acc. However, finally managed to upgrade now, after lugging my laptop here all the way to the library to use the free wireless connection. So I went to create a new template instead! Haha yup after adapting the picture of the cycling gal from the background of a blogskin, and with touches, various add ons and editing in photoshop, here it is! Hmm somehow find that everything’s rather squeezy, heez but think it’s the best that I can do, seriously couldn’t think of another layout to fit everything in nicely already :P

There were soooo many things happening in the midst and photos taken which I wanted to put in. Practically lost track of them now :D but will “pen” them down once I’ve the time to do so which will be very soon I guess. Watch out for the updates then :P Counting down...my precious 6 days!

Sungei Rengit cycling!

Why must my mum saw those reports of crimes in m'sia? In the end, it became a day trip only. Sungei rengit was the furthest we could have gone to in order to catch the last boat back. Not possible to cycle all the way to desaru and stay over or feast on seafood! I guess it won't be possible for me this year already :( Hope that ur manage to realise the original plan in time to come! Though only a day trip, but it was fun nevertheless :) A 1st hand look at the rather remote and village style of johor, passing by the school kids who were waving at us, cycling against the strong wind with a somewhat "heavy" bike (seriously dunno why it feels so much heavier to pedal than the normal bikes), crapping out on the boat deck throughout the ferry rides taking into full view of the sea, eating ice-cream (they have kitkat cone ice cream there!) and etc. It was a rather ironic place though -- hot but very windy, much greenery around but air is in fact not that fresh :p

After which, we cycled down the Changi costal walk also and discovered a scenic place at its end point. There was a wedding couple who was taking their wedding photos among the sand and rocks! Sitting high on the rocks, with the wind howling past us, playing daidee while holding on to the cards tightly and watching the sun set. However, with the sky horizon covered with clouds, we could only catch a tiny glimpse of its last ray of light. By nightfall, hungry stomachs finally spurred us back to changi village for seafood dinner! And hao jian in tampines! All the local dishes which I'm desperately missing now!

with our bikes and helmets :D

with the signboard..we reached sungei rengit!

monkey-like js who really climbed out onto the coconut tree and grabbed a coconut back!

at the beach

big stone! which actually exists in spore :p

Maids!

haha..not a very appropriate background - Best money changer??? The maid or us?

This is of course better..with more maids and the restaurant sign. It's a cosplay restaurant with outdoor dining. In fact, we expected more. We were actually expecting to see a place which was very unique and of more ambience but at least the food was not bad. Nonetheless, it's an experience, to be served by such uniquely dressed maids :p

Happy b'dae to all the jan and feb babies! haha including myself :) We're of... legal age. Not that I'm very excited about though. It just feels so old and that it's time to shoulder the responsibility.
